Effects of hydroxytyrosol on MMP-1 mRNA (a) MMP-3 mRNA (b) expression in UVA-irradiated HDF. HDF was cultured for 24 h and pre-treated with hydroxytyrosol of different concentrations for 6 h. Afterward, the cells were irradiated with UVA for 24 h. MMP-1 mRNA expression was confirmed with qRT-PCR and was found to increase with the hydroxytyrosol concentration. The graph showed the averages of three experiments with error bars representing standard deviation (*p < 0.05)
